WHAT'S A GREEN POOL AND WHAT CAUSES IT?

A “green pool” refers to a pool or spa where the water has become discolored and appears green due to the presence of pool algae or other contaminants.

Pool algae growth

The most common cause of a green pool is algae growth. Algae thrives in water with an imbalance in chemicals, particularly low chlorine levels.
